SNAC (Student Nutrition Advisory Committee) Representative for El Morro to work with the other three LBUSD schools, to focus on promoting health and wellness at our schools and in the community (with a particular focus on promoting healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, and body image). We are collecting, clean, gently used coats of all types and sizes for children and adults.  One Warm Coat is dedicated to distributing reusable coats, free of charge, directly to local children and adults.  These coats will go to the Laguna Beach Resource Center to help people in need in our own community.  Collection boxes are in every classroom.  The One Warm Coat Drive ends Thursday, December 7th....

Colonial Days Second Crafting Bee!   We need YOU!! Every year, we turn the MPR into a Colonial and Native American village, which takes place the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving.   Our second crafting bee will be held from 9am-2pm THIS Thursday, November 9th! Please come join us as we pre assemble materials for Colonial Days. Many hands make light work! Character Counts Week is here –  Nov 6 - Nov 9 – we will introduce a different character trait each day of the week! We will kick it off with an educational, but hilarious show on conflict resolution by the award-winning TenWest troupe. Let's all show our Character by wearing the colors for each day .   Each day we will focus on a different character pillar with its corresponding color. Kids can show support by wearing the color for that day (this is optional and can be anything: shoe laces, bracelet, hair accessories, scarf, socks, shirt, pants and so on).   Character Counts shirts from any year may be worn any day of the week. Monday- wear YELLOW to kick off our Monday-Funday celebrating Respect Tuesday- wear RED or ORANGE to celebrate Caring and Fairness Wednesday- wear GREEN or PURPLE to celebrate Responsibility and Citizenship Thursday- wear BLUE to celebrate trustworthiness Friday- is a holiday...

A big THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered at Boo Blast!!  It truly does take a village to see this event fall into place. A very special thank you to Boo Blast co-chairs, Tina Steincke and Michelle Cornell.  These ladies hit it out of the park and many said it was the best Boo Blast in years!    Thank you to everyone who contributed donations for the silent auction baskets, as well as all Room Parents who coordinated baskets and bake sale donations.  Thanks to the amazing team who transformed the playground into a spooktacular spectacle. Thank you to ALL of our generous sponsors! We also appreciate everyone who attended Boo Blast and made it such a SUCCESS! Wednesday, October 25th is National Unity Against Bullying Day - Wear Orange Next Wednesday, we are asking all students and staff to wear orange to send a message of unity against any type of bullying.  Everyone in our community needs to send a message that bullying behavior will not be tolerated at our school or in our community....

Boo Blast – Friday, Oct 27, 2017 2:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M A tradition for 65 years, Boo Blast is held on El Morro’s creepy playground campus, from 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. You and your little goblins can dress in costume and enjoy the festivities including our spooky Haunted House, giant ferris wheel, and more! Sign up to help out for an hour or two!   Or, if you dare, get your face painted like a menacing monster or zany zombie by Star’s face painting team from the Sawdust Festival! There will be a fiendish food court as well as kooky desserts for everyone at the cake walk and boolicious bake sale.
